Introduction

Georges Memorial medical Centre was incorporated in July 2005, and established as a Women and children’s hospital, to offer high quality services in the areas of: Obstetrics, Gynaecology, In vitro-Fertilization, Paediatrics, Neonatal care, Family medicine, Ultrasound, and laparoscopic (key hole) surgery.

Our medical centre stands as a leading service provider. We are a specialized hospital with professional medical staff and consultants who provide up to date medical services in an ultra-modern and conducive environment. Our services and facilities; such as the state-of-the-art Fertility centre, Gynaecology unit, Obstetric Unit and Infant/child welfare Clinic – to mention a few, have been carefully designed and structured to deliver excellent medical care in the most professional manner.

Target market

Our hospital services are targeted at High Net worth individuals, bilateral organizations, multilateral organizations, and expatriates.

We are able to provide high levels of customer satisfaction within this population segment through our quality-controlled processes, ultra-modern facilities, and highly trained staff.

Board of Directors

Dr. Faye Iketubosin, the Medical Director MBBS, FRCOG (UK) ably manages the Hospital.

During his time in the United Kingdom, Dr Iketubosin trained under the renowned Professor Ian Craft as an In vitro Fertilization specialist

He returned to Nigeria in 1994 and joined the staff of St Nicholas hospital as a Consultant Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist. In his time he built up a sizeable practice and established a reputation as a Fertility specialist

In 1999, he left St Nicholas to set up The Roding medical Centre (The Roding). His clientele from St Nicholas were the foundation patients for The Roding

In 2001 he established the In vitro fertilization unit in collaboration with Dr Adeyemi Bero, Dr Fidelis Akagbosu and Mr. Bryan Woodward, an embryologist from England. The team worked together and recorded their first success, a set of triplets in 2002. The unit has recorded several successes, since then under his supervision. Since leaving The Roding, he has set up as an independent practitioner at the VICHS hospital located at the FABAC centre in Victoria Island

In 2006 he established Georges Memorial Medical Centre, which he currently runs as Consultant Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist and Medical Director.

The other Member of the Board is Dr. Chinyere Ekeocha, MB.BS M.(MED)Sc FRCOG

Dr Ekeocha is a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist with over 30 years’ experience in the Specialty.

He worked as Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with Shell Nigeria for 13 years and later as Clinical Health Manager for 9 years.

He joined the staff of Georges Memorial as a part-time Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a keen interest in Obstetrics and General Gynaecology

Management Team

Matron

Queenette Nwanekezie the Hospital Matron is an energetic and results oriented Nurse with over 20 years experience in midwifery, family planning, Neonatal care, general nursing, IVF and Laparoscopic procedures, who has contributed immensely to the success of the organization. Queenette Graduated from the School of Nursing University Teaching hospital Calabar, and has several postgraduate diplomas in leadership and management.

Deputy Matron

The Deputy matron of the hospital Mrs. Ebun Isawumi is a highly skilled senior nurse who graduated from the University College Hospital Ibadan, School of Nursing in 1991.  She also specialized in midwifery, occupational Health nursing, Family planning, and Public health

Head Embryologist

Miss Foluke Phillips is a trained Embryologist with a postgraduate qualification  (MSc) in Clinical Embryology from the University of Leeds UK.

She has over 9 years experience in the area of In vitro fertilization, and she manages all the laboratory aspects of patient IVF and ICSI cycles
