Mr Gbolade is Consultant Gynaecologist / Director of Fertility Control Unit, St. James’s University Hospital Leeds and a Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Leeds.
A 1978 Ibadan graduate, he received his specialty training in Ireland, Nigeria and the UK and sub-specialty training in the UK.

His research interest is in Reproductive Healthcare, in which he has won prizes and published.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care and other peer-reviewed journals. He served on the FSRH Higher Training Committee and Progestogen-only Injectable Contraception Guideline Development Group and currently serves on its Clinical Studies Group and Equivalence Committee.

He holds higher qualifications in Computational Methods in Medical Science, Medical Law, Health Research and Research Ethics and served as an Expert Member of the Northern and Yorkshire NHS Research Ethics Committee, and a member of the NHS National Clinical Reference Panel for Choose & Book.

He is the President of MANSAG.
