NSIA SIGNS $10M PPP RADIOTHERAPY DEAL WITH LUTH

The Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) today signed a landmark document approving the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement for a modern Radiotherapy Centre (Oncology)  at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. This agreement will provide $10M to equip the Hospital with 
-A High Energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC)
-A Low Energy LINAC
-A Brachytherapy Machine 
-A Treatment Planning System 
-Other ancillary equipment to make the Centre an international destination for cancer care. 
 
The occasion was witnessed by Dr Bola Olowu who represented the Honorable Minister of Health, Alhaji Isa Bello Sali LUTH Chairman Management Board, Mr Jide Zeitlin, Chairman NSIA Board and Mr Uche Orji, CEO NSIA. 
Mr Orji, who stated his Organization’s planned commitment to massive investment in the health sector, enjoined all stakeholders to work hard and justify the confidence reposed in them through this significant fund injection. He promised that funds should be released in the next few days and project delivery is planned for the next 6-9 months in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to improve healthcare delivery and reverse medical tourism in Nigeria. 
The Chairman, LUTH Management Board who signed the documents with the CMD, thanked the NSIA for this laudable initiative and promised that LUTH will live up to and surpass all expectations with this confidence -building initiative. 
Two other institutions, The Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital and the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia also benefited from this initiative which will provide each of them with $5M to establish modern Diagnostic Centres under similar PPP arrangements. Congratulations, All !
