A Consultant Radiologist is a highly skilled medical professional responsible for interpreting medical imaging studies and providing expert diagnostic insights to aid in the treatment and management of patients. This role involves working closely with other medical specialists to deliver high-quality care in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, diagnostic centers, and clinics.
Candidates for this position must possess a Fellowship from the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) or the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) department of Radiology.
Candidates must have a current practising license.
Display of good administrative and interpersonal skills will be an added advantage for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Imaging Interpretation:
Analyze and interpret a wide range of medical imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine imaging.
Provide accurate and timely reports to referring physicians for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Interventional Radiology (If Applicable):
Perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures such as biopsies, angioplasties, and drainage placements.
Clinical Collaboration:
Collaborate with other specialists, such as surgeons, oncologists, and cardiologists, to discuss imaging findings and develop multidisciplinary treatment plans.
Participate in case discussions, multidisciplinary team meetings, and patient management reviews.
Patient Care:
Consult with patients to explain imaging findings and address any concerns.
Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during imaging procedures, with particular attention to radiation safety.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Adhere to established protocols and standards for imaging quality and safety.
Participate in quality assurance programs to maintain and improve imaging services.
Education and Training:
Supervise and mentor radiology residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in continuing medical education to stay updated on advancements in radiology.
Administrative Duties:
Assist in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in equipment selection, procurement, and maintenance to ensure the availability of state-of-the-art imaging technology.
Research (Optional):
Conduct or contribute to clinical research projects in radiology to advance medical knowledge and practices.
