Hello doctors in the house. Bless you all for always taking out time to answer our questions here. More feathers to your caps. I am 16 weeks pregnant but i suffered severe hyperemesis gravidarum since i was 6 weeks pregnant. I only just got relief when i entered my 15th week. Due to the severe nature of my hyperemesis gravidarum, i survived only on intravenous infusions because i could not keep food or fluid down. I have got pressing concerns as to whether my unborn baby is okay considering the fact i couldnt take prenatal vitamins cos i heard that neural tubal defects is developed during the first trimester if adequate folic acid was not ingested during that period. I never took any prenatal vitamin, no folic acid, no nothing just drips. Pls would my baby affected?

Thanks for ur question. You have nothing to worry your pretty head about. The body has a way of storing folic acid if u have being eating well prior to pregnancy. Hypermedia gravid arum is common in pregnancy as the name implied. So, take your antenatal care seriously as u expect ur baby.. cheers.
