SAKKWATO AGC/ADM 2016 – Day 2 Activities Today’s activities of the Annual General Conference and Delegates meeting of the NMA started on a sad note. NOC met this morning and came out with a Press release that was sent to media houses within and outside the country on the unfortunate incidence. The NOC also despatched a high powered delegation to Kaduna to compliment the efforts of the Kaduna NMA. There was virtually no activity during the day except the arrival of most delegates from different states. In the evening, there was a meeting between the Hon. Minister of Health, Hon. Minister of State for Health other officials of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Chief Medical Directors/Medical Directors of our Federal Health Institutions with over 40 of them in attendance. The welcome cocktail was hosted by the CMD of UDUTH, which was convergence of the delegates where prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the departed colleagues as well as for their immediate families and the Hippocratic family at large. In attendance at the cocktail are the Minister of Health, Minister of State for Health, Perm Sec. Federal Ministry of Health, Directors, Federal Ministry of Health, CMD UDUTH, CMAC and DCMAC amongst other dignitaries. NMA Affiliates heads and states delegates were also in attendance. The cocktail was characterised by brief speeches by the dignitaries present. The NOC later moved into a closed door session with Minister and his team. The NMA team led by the NMA President later paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR before retiring for the day.
