Kwara gov, Speaker canvass improved health care delivery

The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr. Ali Ahmed, and say improved health care delivery is key for national development.

By the state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Suleiman Alege, spoke in Oro during the public inauguration of the Oke-Ola Primary Healthcare Centre renovation project undertaken by the Taiwo Mustapha Foundation.

The governor noted that primary health care was strategic to community welfare, including immunisation and maternal and child issues.

Ahmed said, “Immunisation is very important because it guides against deadly diseases for the children. That is why just last month, we introduced a pneumonia vaccine for the immunisation of children in the state.

“This centre will be giving immunisation to our children. I now appeal to our mothers to try as much as possible to get immunisation for their children at this centre. Immunisation is very important and germane for our children.”

He said equipping the hospital was an easy decision as it provided him a greater opportunity to further contribute towards the development of his constituency.
